IWC Glossary of whale watching terms
This document was drafted during the 2006 meeting of the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission. It defines terms used to describe whale watching in a manner useful for study and management of the industry. This differs from the illustrated glossary on this site which is intended more for whale watchers or guides and includes definitions of terms used for cetacean anatomy and behaviour.
